For those not knowing what 'a Pinterest' is, welcome in the 21st century! Pinterest is an online website (also available as app for both Android and Apple) where you can save photos which you 'pin' on a board of your own choosing. For example: I pin a picture of a smiling dog on my board 'dogs'. You get it, right? So ultimately you manage to make several boards on your page with all kinds of ideas and inspiration. Well, it all sounds nice (I know!) but there is also a danger linked to it: YOU GET ADDICTED, as in ... MAJOR ADDICTION. But who cares, it's fun (when you have loads of time, also when you don't have loads of time and you keep on pinning for hours until you realize you ruined your entire afternoon by doing, well, ... 'nothing')!
Despite the addiction and not really receiving something in return, Pinterest made me dream. It made me dream big! Well, let me introduce you to my happy place in the cloud: ​​
PINTEREST OF MAPLE JUICE It all started several years ago with pinning random gifs of stupid but hilarious quotes. Eventually it expanded in pinning my entire future, from my dream house 'till the clothes my future babies will wear (yes, I am that crazy...). Where it all sounded ridiculous in my head before (what on earth will I do with those thousand pictures on my wall?), is now my ultimate life inspiration. It gave me more ideas than looking into magazines. It gave me more genius thoughts than surfing through the web. It gave me freedom to think wide because Pinterest doesn't let you read, it lets you see. And sometimes pictures tickle you senses even more than words. It kind of also made me who I am now. More a free-thinker, more aware of like-minded people and styles. Yes, you also 'meet' people on Pinterest. People start to follow you out of the blue because they like your boards, they like your style. It's kind of saying 'I like who you are' or 'you seem an interesting person' or 'ow my lord, we are so alike!'. I myself had such an epiphany when I discovered an American girl who pinned exactly the same kind of photos as me, fashion-minded then. She has the exact same style as me and since we follow each other, we keep on repinning each others pictures while we never talk haha. Speaking of subtle communication.
I am not trying to convince you to start pinning right away. I know it's not a thing everyone likes to do. I just wanted to give you my ways of getting inspired and this is one of my ways (I said ONE, I still have a life you know!). ​ So, if you want to sneek peak into my style soul, take a look and maybe you get inspired by me (or just by Pinterest, I don't like to brag).
